Voices of Recovery Programs
Welcome!
We’re thrilled to have you here. At Voices of Recovery (VOR), our mission is to transform lives and help individuals overcome addiction. We provide education, wellness, advocacy, and peer support for those seeking long-term recovery from alcohol and other drugs.
Our goal is to empower individuals to become positive contributors to the community and make these opportunities accessible to all members of the vulnerable community in San Mateo County—including friends, allies, and recovery supporters. Wellness Recovery Action Plan (WRAP)
How it Works:
WRAP begins in one-on-one mentoring sessions and grows in ongoing weekly workshops. In 8-week peer-led groups, participants create and refine personalized wellness plans designed to prevent relapse and promote long-term recovery.
Evidence-Based Model:
WRAP is recognized by SAMHSA as an evidence-based practice and has been embraced worldwide since its first publication in 1997. The model was developed by and for people with lived experience, making peer guidance a central element.
Impact:
WRAP empowers participants to identify their personal “wellness tools” and use them daily to improve quality of life, decrease harmful behaviors, and achieve personal goals.
Community Reach:
WRAP is used across San Mateo County, including in programs for people experiencing homelessness, individuals with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders, and those in the criminal justice system.
Connection is key in recovery. Our hybrid community groups offer a safe, supportive space both online and in person:
- Mondays: 5:30 PM – 7:00 PM
Zoom ID: 757 803 277 - Tuesdays & Thursdays: 6:00 PM – 7:30 PM
Zoom ID: 669 189 156

Every person’s story matters, and every journey is unique. That's why we built an inclusive environment with a culture of hope, resilience, and empowerment.

Criminal Justice & Realignment Support
Substance use disorder is highly prevalent in the criminal justice system. With California’s correctional realignment efforts, many individuals are now housed in county facilities and re-entry programs rather than state prisons.
VOR’s Role:
Voices of Recovery San Mateo County is contracted to provide peer-led recovery support services for justice-involved individuals. Our CEO has developed specialized WRAP groups tailored to the needs of this population and their families.
Why It Matters:
This work helps individuals in the justice system access recovery tools, reduce recidivism, and rebuild their lives in the community.
